Katie Ledecky’s Golden Streak in 800m Freestyle Continues

Katie Ledecky has done it again! The American swimming legend secured her fourth consecutive gold medal in the 800m freestyle at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Since her first Olympic appearance in London 2012, Ledecky has owned this event, and she’s proven once again why she’s considered one of the greatest swimmers of all time.

Finishing the race in 8:11.04, Ledecky outpaced the competition to win her ninth Olympic gold and 14th medal overall. Her incredible achievement places her in an elite class of swimmers who have won the same event at four consecutive Olympics, a rare feat that only the legendary Michael Phelps has achieved before.

The silver medal went to an Australian swimmer, while another American swimmer earned the bronze. But the spotlight was undoubtedly on Ledecky, whose incredible career continues to inspire swimmers and sports enthusiasts alike.

In another exciting event, 17-year-old Canadian prodigy Summer McIntosh set a new Olympic record in the 200m individual medley, winning gold with a time of 2:06.56. McIntosh is fast becoming a household name, proving that the future of swimming is incredibly bright.
